Florence Jean Lewis, 68, of Mancelona, died Sat, Sep 16, 2000, at Munson Medical Center.
She was born on Apr 4, 1932, in Highland Park, the daughter of Jessi and Elisabeth (Gourlay) Justice. She married Robert Maurice Lewis Sr. on Aug 10, 1962, in Pontiac.
Florence loved her garden and her flowers. She loved crafts, sewing and painting. She enjoyed family cookouts in the summer and sitting on her swing to enjoy the sunshine. Florence loved vacationing at her mom's house in Florida. She made snowmen in the winter and strawmen in the fall. She enjoyed all the holidays like a child would. Most of all, she will be remembered for her kids that she loved with all her being. She will be missed dearly but in our memory forever.
Florence is survived by husband Robert M. Lewis Sr. of Mancelona; children Stacey (Jim) Kurkowski of Elmira, Robert M (Wendy) Lewis Jr of Mancelona, and Jessi Beth (Richard) Sheteron of Mancelona; grandchildren Brandon Sheteron, Krystal Sheteron, Julie Kurkowski, Kehlsey Lewis, Elisabeth Kurkowski and Matthew Lewis; and sisters Margaret "Peggy" Hill of Oak Park, Kathryn "Kay" Hirt of Zephyrhills, FL, and Lillian "Besty" Farnham of Big Rapids. She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother.
Funeral services were Sep 19 at the Penzien Funeral Homes Inc. in Mancelona; Brent L Bontrager of the Cold Springs Christian Followship officiated. Interment was in Cold Springs Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
