Ferris Edgar Walker of rural Silverwood died early Sat morning, Jan 8, 2000 at the Lapeer Regional Hospital, following a lingering illness. He was 78.
He was born Nov 22, 1921 at Pontiac, the son of Ferris E. and Georgia (Garnett) Walker, and came to this area as a child with his parents. He married Radith Morris on Apr 18, 1942 at Brighton. He owned and operated a farm in Rich Township of Lapeer County, as well as being employed for many years with General Motors at the Lake Orion Plant, retiring in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Radith; five daughters, two sons, and their spouses: Joyce and Ronald Gromak of Silverwood, Barbara and Douglas Williams of Davisburg, Nancy and Don Miller of Holly, Susan and Thomas Andrus of Munger, Jeanette Walker of Pearland, TX, John and Carol Walker of Mayville, and Richard and Becky Walker of Lapeer; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Lester of Austin, TX; a sister, Anita and husband Tom Lehman of Pensacola, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tue, Jan 11 at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro, with Elders Jerry Bernhardt and Harley Dorman of the Caro RLDS Church officiating. Cremation followed with burial in the Rich Township Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Ransford Funeral Home, Caro.
