Fay LeRoy Jackson, 74, lifetime resident of South Boardman, passed away on Sun, Jun 20, 2010 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, LTC. Born on May 12, 1936 in Kalkaska, he is the son of the late Robert and Donna (Kniss) Jackson.
Fay married Edna M Miller on Dec 25, 1954 in Lodi. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324 in Detroit, proud member of the NRA and member of the original Michigan Fiddler's Association of Michigan. Fay retired in 1997. He was a friend to all in our community and enjoyed talking about work and farming. Fay's hobbies included deer hunting, listening and playing old time country music. He loved spending time with his great grandchildren and family.
Surviving Fay is his wife, Edna of 55 years; their children, Steve L (Karen) Jackson of Shepherd, Bonnie M. Jackson of South Boardman, Allen L Jackson of Williamsburg, Ronald F (Dawn) Jackson of Traverse City, Douglas D. Jackson of Union Lake; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; his siblings, Roberta (Jerry) Bruinekool of Grand Rapids, Clifford (Kay) Jackson of Gladstone, Annabell (Don) Haviland of Rockford, Patricia (Will) Rodgers of Kalkaska, Clesson (Mary) Jackson of Grand Rapids.
Preceding Fay in death was his sister, Phyllis Jackson.
Visitation will be on Thu, Jun 24, from 5 to 8 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 5 pm on Friday at the funeral home with additional visitation beginning at 3 pm. Jeff Badgero of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Lodi Cemetery.
