Evelyn M. Wright, 90, a longtime resident of Rapid City, died Nov 2, 1998, at her home.
Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on Dec 8, 1907, Mrs. Wright was the daughter of Jacob and Edith Kennedy Mills. She was married to Clayton Wright in Angola, IN on Jan 16, 1936. He preceded her in death on Apr 2, 1952.
Mrs. Wright resided in Lansing prior to moving to Rapid City, and was a former member of Persons harbor Women's Club.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and baking.
Surviving are sons Clayton (Eleanor) Wright of Newportville, PA and Michael (Frances) Wright of Rapid City; brother Douglas Mills; sister Marion Helmer of Elk Rapids; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Grandson Rusty Wright and sister Clara Stewart preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held Nov 6 at Martyrs Memorial Baptist Church in Rapid City. Rev Kirk Coffia officiated.
Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
