Evelyn C Smith, 86, of Rapid City, passed away on Sat, Jun 16, 2007, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions where she lived for the past 10 years, with her loved family by her side. She was born on Jan 7, 1921 in Bay County, the daughter of the late William and Ida (Harnier) Fry.
Evelyn married Seaman S Smith on Jan 7, 1945, in Bay City. They were residents of Rapid City since 1954, moving from Elk Rapids, Evelyn loved working in her vegetable gardens, cross stitching, playing bingo and playing cards with her group at the Senior Center. She was a member of the Rapid City Church of Christ.
Surviving Evelyn are her children, Gloria L (Richard) Baggs, Linda L (Lynn) Forward, Jackie L Hoadley, S Carl Smith and Patty G (Mike) Green all of Rapid City; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; adn 3 great great grandchildren; her siblings, Stella Brushaber and Clarence Fry both of Beaverton and Carol Grice of Midland; her sister in law, Estella Miller of Williamsburg.
Preceding Evelyn in death was her husband; and her siblings, Louis, Elmer, Ervin, Irene, Melvin, Marvin, and Geraldine.
The funeral service was held on Tue, Jun 19, at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. Jeff Badgero officiated from the Kalkaska Church of Christ. Burial was at Clearwater Township Cemetery.
