Mrs. Evelyn B. Doepker, 86, of Kalkaska, died Thu, Oct 1, 1992, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Doepker had been a resident of Kalkaska since 1939. She was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary. She had been employed by Kalkaska Memorial Health Center until her retirement in 1970, and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Doepker was born in Charlevoix County on Mar 2, 1906, daughter of the late Allen and Margaret Todd Sherk. On May 20, 1940, in Petoskey she was married to Alex F. Doepker who preceded her in death on Jul 18, 1945.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Anne Snyder and Donalda Barrett both of Kalkaska; one brother, Charles Sherk of Walloon Lake; one sister, Vivian Cooper of Kalksaka; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beth Snook and Marguerite Sherk.
Funeral services were held Sat, Oct 3, 1992, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson and Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery Kalkaska.
