Mrs. Eva L. Harris, 84, of Mancelona, died Sun, Sep 17, 1995, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.
Mrs. Harris resided in Pontiac until moving to the Kalkaska and Mancelona area in 1972. She was an active member of the Mancelona Senior Citizens where she had worked as a volunteer. She also served as a volunteer at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. She was affiliated with the Mancelona Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening and socializing.
Born in Metropolis, IL on Mar 1, 1911, she was the daughter of Ebonezer and Mary Lue Reed Baynes. She married Arthur Curry Sr on Mar 17, 1928 in Pontiac. He died on Jul 4, 1964. On Sep 7, 1965, in Pontiac, she was united in marriage with Floyd Harris who preceded her in death on Oct 15, 1985.
Surviving are one son, Robert Curry of Naples, FL; four daughters, Maxine TerHaar of East Tawas, Barbara Golden and Frances Thayer both of Kalkaska, and Ruthann Johnson of Bellaire; one sisters, Reba Maguffey of Waterford; 17 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
One son, Arthur Curry Jr, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held at 1 pm Sat, Sep 23, 1995, at the Mancelona Baptist Church. Pastor Perry Fowler will officiated. Friends may call at the church at the time of services.
