Eugene Richards, 68, of Kalkaska, died Thu, Sep 12, 1996, at his home.
Mr. Richards was employed as a truck driver for White Star Trucking for 36 years prior to his retirement in 1985. He moved to Kalkaska County from Taylor. He was a member of Teamsters Local 299.
Born in Ardmore, AL on Feb 4, 1928, he was the son of Johnie and Nina Mae (Holland) Richards. On Jun 11, 1949, in Ardmore, he married Betty Sanders who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Arthur Glenn Richards, Sr. of Taylor; one grandson, Arthur Glenn Richards Jr of Monroe; one brother, Bobby Richards of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Mattie Wydner of Trinity, AL, and Doyce Smith of Prattville, AL; three stepbrothers, Douglas Tillery of Kalkaska, and Thomas and Joe Tillery both of Ardmore, AL; three stepsisters, Flossie Hodges of Elkmont, AL, Rella Wales of Athens, AL and Clara Bell Butler of Ardmore, AL;and several nieces, nephews, and cousins and his beloved dog, Bonnie.
One sister, Wilma Boles, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Sun, Sep 15, 1996, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Dr. Marc Graham, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
