Mrs. Ethel Pickering, 94, passed away Jun 29, 2011 from dementia. She was born Jun 15, 1917 in Royal Oak, MI.
She married Thomas James Pickering on Aug 17, 1940 and moved to Berkley, MI to raise her family, Mrs. Pickering later retired to Kalkaska, MI.
She was a LPN, worked for the Michigan School System, was at the ground breaking for Munson Hospital in Traverse City, MI, served on the hospital board and worked or Kalkaska Township.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Dona) Pickering Jr, of Tulsa, OK, and Paul Pickering of Three Rivers, MI; her daughter, Sharon Herber of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
The love and compassion she showed so many people will always be remembered. Your family loves you and misses you. You are now home and at peace.
