Mrs. Esther A. Underwood, 44, wife of Tex Underwood of Waynetown, died Thursday in the Carle Clinic at Urbana, IL, where she was a patient 18 days. She had been ill three years and in serious condition three months.
Born at Hartford City, she was educated in the schools there and was married in 1946. The family came here from Waverly, OH 10 years ago. Mrs. Underwood was a member of the Methodist Church and Rebekahs.
Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Nikki and Penny, and two sons, Pat and Ricky, all at home; her father, Thomas Hornbaker; a sister, Mrs Betty Althouse of Gas City, and two half-sisters.
