Ernie (Scott) Hicks, 40, of Kalkaska died on Jan 7, 2004, in Independence, KS.
He was born Mar 28, 1963, in Napoleon, OH, the son of Billy and Dollie (Dalton) Hicks.
Ernie graduated from Forest Area High School in 1981. He married Carrole A Phelan on Oct 24, 1981, in Kalkaska. Ernie was employed by Team Downhole Service in Kalkaska for 14 years. He enjoyed all outdoor motor sports.
Ernie is survived by his children, Heather Dawn Hicks and Billie Douglas Hicks of South Boardman, and Jordan Kristofer Smith of Kalkaska; parents, Billy and Katie Hicks of South Carolina; dear friend, Carrole Hicks of South Boardman; siblings, Mike (Cathryn) Hicks of South Boardman, Billy Randall Hicks of White Falls, KS, Terry (Linda) Dodge of South Boardman, David (Melody) Dodge of Kalkaska, Debi (Roger) Barber of Whitmore Lake, Sandy Barber of Fife Lake, Barb (Brian) Barber of Conway, SC, Doug (Raina) Hicks of Kalkaska, Gerald Doge of Conway, SC, and Tom Dodge of Kalkaska; special friends, Steve Joslin and Donnie Tinker ;and a very large extended family.
Ernie was preceded in death by his mother, Dollie, on May 21, 2001.
Cremation has taken place per Ernie's wishes. There will be a dinner and celebration of ERnie's life on Thu, Jan 15, at the American Legion Hall in Kalkaska from 7 to 10 pm.
