Ernest W. Fortin, 77, of Kalkaska, formerly of Bay City, died Monday afternoon, Aug 16, 1993, at Tendercare of Gaylord.
A lifelong resident of Bay City, he retired as a tinsmith from General Motors, and later did building and house painting. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, and a member of Local 362 U.A.W. He enjoyed hunting, building, and making toys for his grandchildren.
Mr. Fortin was born in Bay City on Aug 16, 1916, to Dominic and Julian Leonard Fortin.
Surviving are one son, Ernest D. Fortin of Harwick, MA; two daughters, Lona King of Kalkaska and Cherie O'Grady of El Dorado Hills, CA; one sister, Josephine Peters of Venice, FL; seven grandchildren and nine gret grandchildren.
One brother, Joe Fortin and two sisters, Rose Emry and Emma LaLone, preceded her in death.
Visitation was held at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska on Thu, and Friday at the Trahan Funeral Home in Bay City where funeral services were held on Sat. Gary Hopp officiated.
Burial was in Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. Local arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
