Ernest Benjamin Street died Apr 7 at the age of 83.
He was born Feb 16, 1919, in Howell, the son of Rodney and Beulah (Cornell) Street.
After graduating from Howell High School, Mr. Street attended Eastern Michigan University and taught school in a one-room schoolhouse. He married Gladys Gray in 1940, and in 1941 moved to Washington, where he graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in chemical engineering.
His employment background included 10 years at the Hanford Atomic facility, Kniseley Engineering Corp and analysis on ships in Puget Sound, near where he lived.
Mr. Street formed a marine chemist consulting business from which he retired in 1986. He was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the church board and as Sunday School superintendent. He later married Patrycya (Booker) in 1973, and lived in Seattle until the time of his death.
Mr. Street is survived by his wife, Patrycya; son, Darrell Street; daughter, Janene Street, and their mother, Gladys Gray; four grandsons; brother Egbert Street of Clinton Township, Clarence Street of Pasadena, CA, and Donald Street of Howell; sister, Celia Reid of Davison; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private funeral services were held. Future inurnment will be at Queen Anne Columbarium in Seattle, WA.
