Erma Goldie Clarkson, age 93 of Applegate, passed away peacefully on Jan 24, 2014 at Serria Home in Warren.
She was the daughter of the late Pirl and Ina (Clark) Turner. Erma was born on Dec 9, 1920. She married Kirk W. Clarkson on Aug 1, 1941.
Erma retired from Aunt Jane’s Pickle factory. She enjoyed baking, cooking and had a huge recipe collection. Erma spent many years attending horse shows and helping with wardrobe changes as well as showing horses in halter classes. She was a 4-H leader in sewing, vegetable and flower gardening. Erma was also a dedicated Tiger baseball fan.
She is survived by children, Sharon (Leon) Garwald of FL, Karen Clarkson-Dawson of Warren; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren and sister Dorothy Evans.
She was preceded in death by husband Kirk W. Clarkson; son, Ronald K Clarkson; grandson, Grant R. Clarkson; and brothers Robert and Pirl Turner of Carsonville.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Sat, May 17, 2014 at 1pm at her residence 5445 Dervy Rd, Applegate. Pastor Don C Wixson of Sandusky will officiate.
