Emma Otto McAllister, 89, died Sun, May 21, 2000, at Arbor Hospice Residence.
She was born in Kalkaska County on Jun 24, 1910, the daughter of Raymond G. and Nellie M (Packer) Vargason. On Jun 30, 1936, she married Walter Otto in Rapid City. He preceded her in death on Jun 12, 1982. On Jun 5, 1985, she married Almond Paul McAllister. He also preceded her in death in 1994.
Emma was a nurse's aide at Beyer Hospital and retired on Jun 24, 1975. She was a member of the Cross Street Church on Christ in Ypsilanti.
Survivors include son Richard Raymond (Sally) Otto of Kalkaska and their daughters Rosemary Sue (John) Smith [daughter Kelsey Rae], and Paige Ann Otto; daughter Rosemary Edith (Bobby) Cole of Roseburg, OR, and their children Kenneth and Tonya; and brother Leonard (Vera) Vargason of Flint. Ten nieces, three nephews, and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews also survive her.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, their wives, a niece and a grandson Jason Cole.
Funeral services were May 24 at Stark Funeral Home in Ypsilanti. Burial followed in Cadillac Memorial Gardens, Westland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arborn were requested.
