Emily S. Johnson, 86, of Kalkaska, passed away on Sun, Nov 27, 2011 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center-LTC. She was born on Dec 18, 1924 in Kenton, MI, the daughter of the late John and Cleo (Delph) Daniels.
Emily married Leo Caden in 1943, who passed away in 1949. Later she married Ralph M. Johnson on May 13, 1954 in Greenville, Together they owned the Village Upholstery and moved to Kalkaska in 1966 so Ralph could go in business with his brother, Robert, cutting pulpwood. Emily's hobbies included painting, home decorating, ceramics, and flower gardening. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Surviving Emily are her children, Arthur L Caden of Kalkaska and Nancy Valerie Singler-Stoltzenberg of Billings, MT; her step children, Betsy Wooden of Kalkaska and Nancy Johnson of Grand Rapids; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her daughter, Connie Clarke-Boughner in 2008; and her brother, George Daniels.
Visitation will be held on Wed, Nov 30 from 6 to 9 pm at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Thu, Dec 1 at 2 pm also at the funeral home with Reverend Norman Dickson from St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church officiating.
