Elva Marie Bissett, 79, of South Boardman, passed away peacefully Aug 14, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Bissett was born in Lapeer County on May 15, 1921, to William and Clarice Davis Foster. She married Cameron Bissett in Lapeer County on May 7, 1938. He preceded her in death on Aug 3, 1997.
Mrs. Bissett lived in the Port Huron area until 1962, when she moved to Kalkaska County. For 10 years prior to moving to Kalkaska County, she was employed at Autolight Industries in Port Huron. She later assisterd her husband in farming and his excavating business. Marie was known for her beautiful flower gardens.
Surviving are son Wayne (Carol) Bissett of South Boardman; daughters Marilyn (Eugene) Munro of Fife Lake, Charlotte (Adrian) Kippen of South Boardman, Linda (Harry) Sundling of Cooks, and Joyce Custer of Kalkaska; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Her sister Erma Bissett and granddaughter Tracy Hayner preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Aug 17 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; E Dan Johnson, pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
