Mrs. Eloise S. Paxton, 79, formerly of South Boardman, died Fri, Feb 3, 1995, at Lakeview Lutheran Manor in Cadillac. Mrs. Paxton moved to Kalkaska County in 1979. Prior to her retirement, she taught in the Wayne Public School System. She was a graduate of Superior State Teachers College in Superior, WI. She was a member of the Traverse City Retired Teachers Ass'n, O.E.S. Chapter 147 in Travrse City, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Fife Lake Rebekah Lodge, and the American Legion Auxiliary in South Boardman.
Mrs. Paxton was born in Ann Arbor on Mar 4, 1915, to Fred and Maude Williams Brewer. She was married to Robert Light in 1939. He died in 1958. On Jul 2, 1960, in Wayne, she was united in marriage with Donald Paxton who preceded her in marriage with Donald Paxton who preceded her in death on Jul 12, 1987.
Surviving are four sons, Robert Light of Leroy, William Light of San Diego, CA, Edward Light of Niles, and Bruce Light of Kalkaska; one step son, Donald Paxton of Taylor, one step daughter, Patricia rogers of AR, 18 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Sat, Feb 11, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. J. Timothy Diemer, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Leroy will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at Boardman Township Cemetery under the auspices of the Rebekah Lodge.
An Eastern Star Memorial service will be held at 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday.
