Elmond K Nolff, Sr, 75, of South Boardman, passed away on Sun, Feb 3, 2008, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on Jan 19, 1933, in Detroit, the son of the late Harold and Opal (Allen) Nolff.
Elmond married Bernadean Jasper of Inkster in 1950. Together they moved to South Boardman in 1968. Over the years, Elmond and Bernadean owned and operated many local businesses through out Kalkaska County. He enjoyed spending winter months at his home in Hudson, FL, going to flea markets, Coca Cola collecting, fishing, and watching the Detroit Tigers. Elmond was a supporter of the Kalkaska 4H, Chamber of Commerce, coaching South Boardman Little League and sponsored many other local sports.
Elmond is survived by his wife, Bernadean of 57 years; his children, Judy Nolff, Karen (Jerry) Korson, Bonnie Garrett, Lori (Kevin) Denike, Mark Nolff all of South Boardman, Nancy (Ron) Zingg of Corydon, IN, Elmond Jr (Tracy) Nolff of Grand Blanc, and Lisa (Jim) Mattson of Lecanto, FL, his grandchildren, Josh and Allison Garrett, Jenni Craig, Ronnie and Alex Zingg, Matt, Kenny, and Tyler Denike, Chris & Eric Korson, Alishia Davis, Spencer & Caitlin Nolff; his great grandchildren, Kyleigh Makenzi, Alexis, Laney, Camryn, Zander and Trevor; his siblings, Wallace (Caroline) Nolff of Fife Lake, Robert (Rosie) Nolff of Romulus, Nellie Jean (Ray) Dunaway of Indianapolis, IN; Uncle Benny Allen of Lansing and Uncle Dwight (Mae) Nolff of Little Mountain, SC; several nieces and nephews.
Elmond was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Heather and Kourthi Garrett and Kyle Denike.
Visitation was held on Wed, Feb 6 at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service was on Thu at the Victory Baptist Church with Reverend William McQueen and Reverend Fraser Vipond officiating. Burial will be at Boardman Township Cemetery.
