Ellen E. Long, 89. of Kalkaska passed away on Jan. 25, 2003. She was the beloved wife of the late Isiah James "Pete" Long (June 1971); dear mother of Grace (Pat) McCauley of Kalkaska, Sam Long of Kalkaska, Mary (Dave) Robins of Mancelona, Alice Dorman of Kalkaska, John (Jean) Long of Kalkaska, Pete Long of Kalkaska, and Sid (Terrie) Long of Kalkaska; dear grandmother of 16 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ellen was preceded in death by daughter Kay Woodin.
Ellen married Pete Long on March 18, 1937 in Kalkaska. Mrs. Long was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and a life member of VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her garden and her soap operas.
Mass of Christian burial was Jan. 28 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
