Mrs. Elizabeth Terry, 86, one of Greenville’s oldest pioneer residents, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Claude Bristol, at Gowen, Thu night. She had been ill a week.
Mrs. Terry was born in Belfast, ME, but came to Michigan at the age of 2. Her mother worked in a trading post on Flat River here, and often she related that her only playmates during those years were the Indian children.
At the age of 18 she was married to Deal Bigler, who died a number of years ago. Later she married Charles Terry, who also preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughter, two sons, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Sun afternoon at the Gowen church with Rev. L.B. Niles officiating. Burial will be in the Spencer Mills cemetery.
