Elizabeth F. Adkins, 79, of Roscommon, died Sep 13, 2009, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Liz was born Sep 1, 1930, in Wise County, VA to the late Sol and Mary Lee (Maples) Moore.
On Feb 29, 1952, Liz married John T Adkins in Tacoma, WA. John and Liz moved to Roscommon from Detroit in 1989.
She is survived by five children: David S (Kathy) Simon of New Jersey, Anna L West and Thomas L Adkins, both of Redford, Marylou Adkins of Battle Creek and Linda S (Dale A) Tussey of Kalkaska; eight grandchildren, Debbie (John), Felicia, Margaret, John (Chris), Robert, David (Rachel), Tammy (Ken), and Angela; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Mary Jane) Moore of Scotts and Earl Thompson of Dearborn Heights; two sisters, Edna Belt of Livonia and Hazel (Russell) Hall of Raven, KY.
Liz was preceded in death by her husband John; son in law, John W. West; a great granddaughter; six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services are at 2 pm on Thu at the Walsh Funeral Home in Roscommon.
Services will be officiated by David E. Hansen.
Burial will be at the Roscommon Village Cemetery.
