Elizabeth Anne Phillips, passed away at her home in Grand Rapids on Tue, Sep 6, 2011. She was born in Ireland to James and Katherine (Sheerin) Feely on Jan 29, 1917. Elizabeth was a registered nurse, and served as a Lieutenant in the British Army during WWII. She met her husband Max in London and emigrated to the US in 1952. Elizabeth retired from Ferguson Droste Ferguson Hospital and they moved to Mancelona in 1977. both had happy memories of the friends they made during their years there.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Max. She leaves behind her daughter, Joanne (William) Sherwood and grandchildren, Beatrice, Elizabeth, and Madelyne Sherwood; as well as Catherine Sherwood, Emily Scott, Widdicombe Sherwood Schmidt; and many family members in Ireland.
A graveside service was held on Sat, Sep 10, 2011 at 1 pm at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Kalkaska.
Memorial contributions may be given in Elizabeth's honor to Hospice of Michigan.
