Eleanor Frances "Toby" Carpenter of Mancelona passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sep 22, 2004, at her home.
Born on Apr 16, 1927, in Hazel Park, she was the daughter of Arthur and Frances (Drew) Davey.
Eleanor married Gerald J Carpenter on Oct 26, 1946 in Centerline. She and Jerry were residents of Mancelona since 1973 when they moved from Clinton Township. She was a wonderful wife and mother.
Eleanor enjoyed touring Europe and spending winters in Florida. She was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska.
Eleanor is survived by Jerry, her husband of 57 years; children, Michael Carpenter of Fife Lake, Susan (Steve) Jessup of Murrieta, CA, Sally Marie (Tom) Goodale of Mancelona, Monte Wade Carpenter of Roseville, Shawn Lorraine Henrickson of St. Simon Island, GA, and Morgan Allen Carpenter of South Boardman; 20 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her brothers, Ronald Davey of Stuart, FL, Kenneth (Anita) Davey of Largo, FL and Arthur Davey of Sacramento, CA, and her sister Carolyn Fernandez of Pollock Pines, CA.
A graveside service was held on Sat, Sep 25 at the Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev Ted Turanski officiating.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home of Kalkaska.
