Mrs. Elaine C. Claus, 77, of Kalkaska, died Sun, May 4, 1997, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Claus resided in Ada until 1979, when she moved to Kalkaska County. She was formerly employed as a secretary at Sears, Roebuck, and Co. She was a member of the Kalkaska Senior Citizens, director of the Kitchen Band and member and former president of the Senior Nutrition Advisory Board. She was affiliated with St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Born on May 4, 1920, in Farmington, Mrs. Claus was the daughter of Leonard and Gladys McFarland Wenzel. On Jul 31, 1941, in Redford she married Werner Claus who survives.
Also surviving are sons Werner (Jane) Claus of Ada and Leonard (Sylvia) Claus of TX; daughter, Sandra (Bill) Hulbert of Novi; sister Marilyn Cole of CA and six grandchildren.
A sister, Janice Worden, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 pm at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Ted Turanski will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Kalkaska County Commission on Aging.
