Effie Josephine (Foote) Wright Bauer (formerly of Saginaw) passed away on June 2, 2012, at the Mid-Michigan Gladwin Pines Nursing Home, at the age of 91 years. Effie Foote was born on Aug. 3, 1920, in Redford, Mich. She married Francis Wright, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1986. On Aug. 6, 1987 she married Nelson Bauer (who preceded her in death on June 9, 1994), and spent eight years living on Wixom Lake in the summer and Florida in the winter.
Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Seva Swan, Columbia, S.C., Lynne (Robert) Mathis, Lee (Sharlene Smeage) Wright, Brian Wright; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Effie was a devoted Christian and worked hard at mastering her computer skills later in life. She had a good sense of humor, was a great cook, and won a bus driving safety award from Shields school system. Note: on the day she received the award, she got stuck in a snow drift on the way.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., on June 6, 2012, at the Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Pastor Howard Festerling will officiate. Friends and family may call at the Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum where the family will be present on June 5, 2012, from 5-8:00 p.m., and on June 6, 2012, from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.
