Edwin Stanley Hughes was born on Aug 3, 1937 and passed away on Jan 11, 2020 at his home in Traverse City; he was 82 years old.
Edwin served in the US Navy, after which, he worked as a representative for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union where he retired in his late 50s.
He was married to Mary Jo Campbell for 61 years. They enjoyed a beautiful life together and Edwin took great care of Mary Jo until the day she passed away in 2012.
In his later years, he would enjoy many visits from his three daughters, all of whom would leave his house with some treasure he had given them.
Ed enjoyed gardening, fishing, and was a very talented wood worker. He also enjoyed attending yard sales where he would find many gems. His favorite holiday was Halloween and he would give out huge candy bars to all the kids in the neighborhood; they all loved it!
Mourning Edwin's passing are his three daughters, Laura Hughes (Fred Cybulski), Wendy (Michael) Gillner and Cindy Hughes; grandchildren, Janae (Bill), Scott, Cory (Sara) and Rachel (Fountain); great grandchild, Jujuan (Tessa); and great great great grandchild, Isabella. He will also be remembered by his brother, Alan Hughes, brother in law, James Campbell; and sister in law, Katherine Campbell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
