Mr. Edwin E (Bill) Schaefer, 80, of Saginaw Township, died suddenly Fri, Nov 6, 1992, at St. Luke's Hospital.
Mr. Schaefer graduated from Arthur Hill High School and Michigan State University where he served as president of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served as Chairman of the board of Schaefer Technologies, Inc. He was a former member of the Saginaw Bay Power Squadron and a past member of the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce. He served as a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army during WWII and remained in the U.S. Army Reserves until his retirement. He was active in lapidary work and oil painting.
Mr. Schaefer born Jul 29, 1912 in Saginaw and was a lifelong resident. He married Barbara Grant on Jun 15, 1936, who survives.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Maxfield and her husband Charles of Virginia and Cecelia Mysliwiec and her husband Paul of Grand Rapids; two sons, Grant Schaefer and his wife Janice of Saginaw and Richard and his wife Sandra on San Francisco; one sister, Mary Pollard of Saginaw and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister Clara Erlanson.
Funeral services were held Mon, Nov 9, 1992 at The Deisler Funeral Home in Saginaw. Rev. Patrick Jankowiak officiated. Entombment followed at Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Freeland.
