Edward W. Morrison Sr, 83, of Kalkaska, passed away on Feb 26, 2002, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care. He was born Apr 24, 1918, in Harrisville, the son of Walter and Lillian (Bailey) Morrison.
Edward was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He married Myrtle Irene Hutchinson on May 1, 1937, in Saginaw. Edward moved from Reed City to Kalkaska in 1981. He was the previous pastor of Church of God in Kalkaska, Scottville and Reed City. He retired after 23 years of pastoring.
Edward is survived by his loving family including his wife Myrtle of 65 years; children Lawrence (Esther) Morrison of Winchester, TN, Dale (Mary) Morrison of Rockford, IL, Carol (Thomas) Craddock of Rockingham, NC, Charleen Morrison of Reed City, Edward (Rosemary) Morrison Jr of Flint, Marilyn Morrison of Kalkaska, David (Marie) Morrison of Reed City; sister Sharon Rose of Flint; 19 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by siblings James, Hamilton, Herbert, Darwin, and Jenny and grandson Dale Morrison Jr.
Visitation was held at the Wolfe Funeral Home Feb 28 until the funeral service at New Life Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Bruce Badder and the Rev. Carl Allen officiated.
