Edward P, Ascione, 59, of Williamsburg, died Thu, Jul 28, 1994 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Ascione had been a resident of Kalkaska County since 1966, after moving from Berkley. He formerly owned and operated Ford Grocery, and he was the founder of Northern A-1 Sanitation. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and the Kalkaska Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was born on Jul 8, 1935, in Detroit, to Domenic and Anna Mazzenga Ascione. In Jan 1957, in Detroit, he married Vida Silvestri, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Edward Jr, or Williamsburg and Michael of Kalkaska; one daughter, Renee Chwastek of Kalkaska; one sister Gloria Morrone of Kalkaska; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Angelo and Arthur; and two sisters, Elaine Gallucci and Theresa DiFonzo.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Sun, Jul 31, 1994 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial was in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
A rosary was recited at the funeral home on Saturday.
