Edward L Densmore, 67, of Negaunee, formerly of Kalkaska, passed away Jan 28, 2004, at his home with his wife and family by his side.
Ed was born on Nov 4, 1936, in Bird Lake, Hillsdale County, MI. He was the son of Arthur and Nina (Landel) Densmore, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Waldron High School in 1955 then served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1955 to 1958. He married Mary Sexton on Oct 3, 1959 in Waldron.
Ed worked for the M&S Morenci Corporation in Morenci, MI for 20 years. He then moved to Kalkaska, where he worked at Alken-Ziegler, Kal Screw, and Turtle Creek Casino until retiring in 1998. Ed and Mary moved to Negaunee in 2001.
He was an avid sportsman through and through. He hunted deer, bear, small game, and loved to fish and trap. He raced motorcycles for over 30 years. He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club, National Rifle Association and the American Motorcycle Association.
Surviving is his wife, Mary; son, Rory (Marie) Densmore of Waldron; daughters, Deanna (James) Dunn of Negaunee, and Bonnita (Kurt) Reinking of Royal Oak. Also surviving is his sister, Donniece (Jim) Corley of Tucson, AZ; and grandchildren, Evan and Nick Brooks, Jamie and Sawyer Dunn, and Jacob and Joshua Reinking.
Cremation has taken place with no service at this time. A memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Koskey Funeral Home in Negaunee.
A memorial will be established in Ed's name at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, OH, at the request of the deceased.
