Edward J Szymchack, 55, of Kalkaska, died Oct 1, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Szymchack resided in Ann Arbor until 1975, when he moved to Kalkaska County. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was employed 23 years as a diesel mechanic at Dowell. He was a member of the NRA, the Kalkaska Bass Club, and a former member of the Boardman Township Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and race cars.
Born in Ann Arbor on Mar 5, 1944, he is the son of George and Lucille Howe Szymchack. On Jan 26, 1963, in Saline, he married Patricia Lee, who survives.
Besides his wife he is survived by sons Edward J (Debbie) Szymchack Jr of Traverse City, Paul (Rachael) and Eugene (Theresa) Szymchack both of Kalkaska, and Eric (Jennifer) Szymchack of Fife Lake, daughters Jennie (Kevin) Borgen and Cathy Ann Szymchack, both of Kalkaska; brothers Lawrence and David Szymchack, both of Kalkaska; and 10 grandchildren.
Sister Elizabeth Simpkins preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Oct 4 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Pastor Howard Seaver officiated. Inurnment was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
