Edward "Ed" J. Blanchette Jr, 65, of Kalkaska, passed away at his home on Sun, Oct 23, 2011. He was born on May 19, 1946 in Muskegon to the late Edward Joseph and Teola Louise (Walton) Blanchette.
Ed served his country honorably as a member of the US Army. He married Judy L Guthrie on Nov 13, 1970 in Bell County, TX. They moved to Kalkaska from Muskegon in 1980. Ed worked as a logger in the lumber industry. He enjoyed deer hunting and playing cribbage. Ed loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Ed is survived by loving wife, Judy; his dear children, Tim (Shantel) Blanchette of Rapid City, Erin (Kim) Blanchette of Kalkaska, and Angel (Craig) Cooper of Kalkaska; his seven precious grandchildren; and his siblings, Gloria Romans of Hesperia, Verda Perkins of Muskegon, Cecilia (Mike) Moran of Muskegon, Bonnie Kaule of Kalkaska, Faye (Terry) Junke of Muskegon, Roger (Cindy) Blanchette of Hesperia, and Mike Blanchette of Fremont.
A memorial service was held on Sat, Oct 29, 2011 at 1 pm at the Bear Lake Christian Church with Pastor David Rosenberg officiating.
