Edsel W. Bandlow Sr, formerly of Kalkaska, died Mon, Nov 23, 1998, at his residence in Traverse City.
Mr. Bandlow had been a resident of Kalkaska County for the past 34 years, then resided in Traverse City during the past year. He retired from Gulf and Western following 44 years of service, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and a former member of the Mancelona Rotary Club. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, eh enjoyed golfing, hunting, gardening, and woodworking.
Born in Mt. Clemens on Nov 24, 1917, he was the son of Albert and Grace Cornwall Bandlow. On Sep 30, 1939, in Mt. Clemens, he was married to Adele Shaw, who preceded him in death on Jun 30, 1993.
Surviving are son Edsel (Ann) Bandlow Jr; daughters Mrs. Clint (Janice) Marsh of Traverse City, Mrs. Chad (Kathleen) Dutcher of Gaylord, and Mrs. Bob (Diane) Johnson of Williamsburg; sister Lillian Aschenbach of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Ruby.
Brother Albert preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Nov 28 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska; Rev. Ted Turanski officiated. Burial was in Excelsior Township Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home.
