Mrs. Eda E. DeJonge, 75, of Mancelona at the died on Wednesday evening, Apr 8, 1992 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care, following an extended illness.
Mrs. DeJonge had been a lifetime resident of the Antrim-Kalkaska area, having lived in Bellaire, Eastport, Ellsworth and Mancelona.
She was a member of the Ellsworth Christian Reform Church. Mrs. DeJonge was a homemaker, and she enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and gardening.
On Jun 2, 1916 in Bellaire she was born to William and Virginia (VanderMark) Hill.
On Jul 30, 1936 in Ellsworth she was married to Louie DeJonge, and he preceded her in death on Sep 2, 1987.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Alfred E. Baker, Jr, four sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Mary) Shuboy of Mancelona, Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Powers of Traverse City, Mrs. Ralph (Luella) Mapes of Charlevoix and Allie Baker of Burlington, WI; one son, Louie (Eva Mae) DeJonge of Kalkaska; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Russell (Nettie) Marr of Laingsburg.
Funeral services were held on Sat, Apr 11, at the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona with Rev. Leonard Riemersma officiating. Burial was in Cold Springs Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
