Earl Lawson passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Dec 16, 2003, at his home in Rapid City.
He was born on Feb 2, 1920, in Campton, KY, the son of Arthur and Malinda (Maloney) Lawson. He was raised on a farm in Kentucky.
Earl was a veteran serving our country in the Army during WW II.
He married Mildred Vires on Dec 27, 1944, in Lawson, and she preceded him in death. Earl retired from Numatics, Inc in 1977.
A resident of Rapid City since 1994, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and the "great outdoors."
Surviving are Earl's children, Shirley A. Wolfe of Howell, Lois E Ziegler of Rapid City, and Linda May (Steve) Phillips of Spartonburg; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and Earl's sisters, Ida Gross of OH and Teed Miller of Kentucky.
The funeral service was Dec 19 at the funeral home with the Rev. TG Cundiff officiating. Interment will be at Clearwater Township Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
