Earl H. Nichols, 63, of North Augusta, SC, formerly of Mancelona, died Feb 7, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Nichols resided in Mancelona until three years ago, when he moved to the North Augusta area. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was employed as a carpenter prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Nichols was born in Pontiac on Aug 17, 1934, to Harry and Rosella Martin Nichols. He married Nancy Miller in Columbus, GA on Aug 17, 1956.
Surviving are his wife Nancy; sons Kenneth (Kathy) Nichols and Lance (Robin) Nichols, both of Mancelona; daughter Teresa Whitby of North Augusta; brother Jack Nichols of North Branch; sister Charlotte Marin of Novi; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb 12 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Ted Turanski, Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
