Earl E. Ayers, 60, prominent Ludington plumber for many years, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home at 406 East Loomis street at 7:35 am today.
Mr. Ayers, who had lived in Ludington for many years, was well known throughout the community and was well liked by everyone with whom he came in contact.
Earl Ayers was born Jan 22, 1892, in Traverse City and was married Oct 7, 1917, in Detroit to Louise Zackow.
He was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his widow, two sons, Earl Jr and Robert, both of whom were associated with their father in business; three daughters, Mrs. Harry Rechtin of Midland, Mrs. Lee Nass of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Alice Ayers, at home; a brother, Otto of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Martineau of Detroit and Mrs. Charles Hendricks of Grand Rapids, and four grandchildren.
The body, now at Dorrell funeral home, will be taken to the family residence Thursday morning.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday from St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mr. William Opitz as officiating clergyman. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
