Duane Max Campbell, 60, of Kalkaska, passed away Fri, Jun 6, 2008 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born Jul 18, 1947 in Grayling, the son of Max Roy and Esther Marie (Tracey) Campbell.
Duane was a lifelong resident of Kalkaska and graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1965. On Aug 20, 1966, Duane married Bonnie Jean Ball. Together they raised two wonderful children. Duane served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army on a medi-vac-helicopter team. He was a member of the American Legion Post 480 of Kalaska and spent a lot of his time helping at the local VFW Post. Duane enjoyed fishing in Canada at his cabin and riding his four wheeler. He loved going to the casino with his wife Bonnie.
Surviving Duane is his loving wife of 41 years, Bonnie; his son Michael Campbell of Kalkaska; his daughter, Kelly (Jason) Burnett of Tecumseh; his mother, Esther Marie Campbell of Kalkaska; siblings, Delwin (Jean) Campbell of Coleman, Diana (Charlie) Shafer of Kalkaska, and Delores Nason of Beaverton; and his two precious grandchildren, Claire and Jack Burnett of Tecumseh.
Duane was preceded in death by his father, Max Roy Campbell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
