Duane Arthur VandenBosch, 56, of Kalkaska, passed away Sep 4, 2010, peacefully at home with his wife and daughters at his side. He was born on Jan 31, 1954 in Ann Arbor, the son of the late Arthur and Ellen (Wells) VandenBosch.
Duane married Barb Campbell on Feb 14, 1975. Together they shared a wonderful life of 35 years. A life-long resident of Kalkaska, Duane has a lifetime of friends. His humor could turn gray skies blue, he had the talent of being funny and a practical joker, yet when you really needed him, his wisdom and knowledge could heal a broken heart. Duane worked at ANR Storage for many years.
Family and friendships meant everything to Duane. He loved a warm campfire, good music, and belly laughs. His adventure and great expectations included hunting, fishing, finding morels and two tracking all within the boundaries of Kalkaska County.
Duane leaves behind the love of his life, Barb; his legacy, three beautiful daughters, Jody (Don) Lance, Lisa (Zeb) Sieting, and Erin (Nathan) her fiance. He was a loving grandfather to four grandsons, Spencer and Hayden Lance, Arthur and Charles Sieting. Survivors also include his siblings, Diann (Jim) Vipond and Jeff (Lori) VandenBosch; his mother in law, Mary Ferris; and many nieces and nephews.
Duane will be missed by many. He wants to be remembered with a smile. His favorite lyrics by the Beatles: "Let it be, there will be an answer, let it be."
Visitation will be held on Thu, Sep 9 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Fri at 1 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Janiszewski of the New Life Assembly of God officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Educational Fund for Duane's grandchildren.
