Duane A. Colbath, 62, of Mancelona, died Monday evening, Aug 23, 1999 at his home.
Mr. Colbath spent his early years in Kalkaska, and then moved to the Grand Rapids area where he resided for 25 years. He was employed for many years by the City of Wyoming, and following his retirement, moved to Mancelona in 1992. He had been an active member of the Moose Lodge since 1982, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Duane was born in West Branch on Jun 12, 1937, to Louis and Lillian (Triplett) Colbath. On Feb 16, 1991, in Wyoming, he was married to Diana Julian, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by children Duane Junior (Robin) Colbath of Wyoming, Mark Colbath of Grand Rapids, Lucinda Battenfield of Kansas, Linda (Donald) Yeakey of Wyoming, Kevin (Jamie) Julian and Andrea Julian, both of Mancelona, and David Colbath and Mary Colbath, both of Rockford; brothers Ernest Smith of Mancelona, Marion Cairns of CA, and Donald Morris of Kalkaska; sister Nellie Rohde of Mancelona; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Stepson Rick preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Aug 26 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Pastor Larry Fetzer officiated.
