Doyle C. Campbell of Fife Lake died on Tue, Nov 16, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was the son of Darrell and Anna Campbell.
At the age of 16, he left home and joined the Merchant Marines. After WWII he came home and sailed the Great Lakes.
Doyle went to work for Great Lakes Steel Inc. in Ecorse. He retired from BASF after 29 years in Wyandotte.
He married Barbara Murray on Oct 19, 1982, in Lincoln Park. They were residents of Fife Lake for 21 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Kalkaska.
Doyle is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Marlene Ashman of Seattle, WA, Anna Foley of Wyandotte, Doyle Leffew of South Boardman; stepchildren, Patsy Newmann of Kalakska, Danny Leffew of Trenton, David Leffew of Taylor, Mary White of Flat Rock, and Sheila Leffew of Flat Rock; 26 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Carlson; brother, Russell Campbell; and seven nieces and nephews.
Doyle was preceded in death by his son Darrell Campbell; and stepson, Bobby Leffew.
A funeral service was held on Sat, Nov 20, at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. The Rev. Kimberland Hough officiated. Interment was at Lodi Cemetery.
