Dorothy M. Loper, 76, Green Bay, formerly of Gillett, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, after a struggle with lung cancer. She was born March 17, 1933, in Pontiac, Mich., to the late Hilda (Bailey) (Shurtz) McCarrick and George R. Shurtz. Dorothy worked for 17 years for Metal Craft. She was an animal lover, enjoyed the outdoors and flowers of any kind, and loved to make crafts.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sandy and Glenn Keith, Green Bay; Brian Raetz, Florida; Tina Nys, De Pere; Leslie Vaughn, Gillett; Rose and Don McGuire-Warden, Suamico; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Loper; her mother and stepfather, Hilda and Steve McCarrick; two brothers, Howard and Duane.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dorothy's family thanks Dr. Amy James and the caring staffs of Unity Hospice and Rennes Health Care Center and all the volunteers who helped make her last days comfortable.
