Dorothy M Peelman, 92, of Kalkaska passed away peacefully on Tue, Jun 20, 2006, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care.
She was the beloved mother of R. David (Mary) Peelman of Tawas City and James M (Melissa) Peelman of Kalkaska; dear grandmother of David James (Brendy) Peelman of AZ, Brandon Mitchell and David James Peelman, both of Kalkaksa, TJ Peelman and Nathan Peelman both of Byron, Kimberley Peelman of East Tawas, Pat Bell of Argentine, BJ Bell of East Tawas; the loved great grandmother of Jordon Sutherby of Mayville, Rachel Peelman and Ryan Peelman, both of AZ; and the loved sister of Clarence "Jake" Ray of Salines, CA; and the loved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was the dear friend and special thanks go to Patty Herrea of Flint, Donna (Dennis) Koontz of Rapid City, and Karen (Jerry Davis) Anderson-Davis) of Rapid City.
Dorothy was born on Oct 21, 1913, in Kalkaska, the daughter of the late Clarence and Annebelle (Waddell) Ray. She was a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County.
Dorothy married Russell E Peelman on Aug 22, 1936, in Otisville.
Dorothy was an LPN and worked at the Bellaire Nursing Home and at Fenton Memorial Nursing Home. She also worked for the American Red Cross and was a member of the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene.
Her family was her joy in life.
Preceding Dorothy in death was her husband, Russell; siblings, Brady, Henry, Pete, Bill, Liz, and rose; and her granddaughter, Donna Jean Peelman-Sutherby.
The funeral service was held on Fri, Jun 23, at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ross D Corne officiating from the Mancelona Church of the Nazarene.
Burial took place at Excelsior Township Cemetery.
