Mrs. Dorothy E. Dietz, 76, of Kalkaska, died Tue, Aug 27, 1991 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Dietz was a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, and worked for many years as a receptionist in the office of Dr. William W. Kitti.
She was born in Kalkaska County on May 12, 1915, daughter of the late Charles and Susie Gable Thornburg. She was married on Jan 8, 1934, to Max Root, who preceded her in death on Dec 2, 1969. On Jan 14, 1978, in Kalkaska, she was married to Robert Dietz who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Merle Root and Jesse Root both of Kalkaska; one daughter, Maxine Carson of Lakeland, FL; two step daughters, Sandra Watson of Kalkaska, and Jean O'Toole of VA; one brother, Russell Thornburg of East Jordan; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Robert, and Dewey Thornburg; one sister, Gladys Burkholder; one stepson, Warren Dietz; and three grandchildren, Ronald Lucas, Bobby Watson, and Cheryl Root.
Funeral services were held Fri, Aug 30, 1991 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson, Pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
