Dorothy Bauer, 90, died Aug 8, 2000, at Bortz Health Care Facility in Traverse City.
Dorothy had lived in Elk Rapids since 1998, when she moved from East Lansing. She had previously lived in the Detroit area.
She was born Jan 8, 1910, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Deta (Granger) Blacklaw.
On Sept 2, 1933, in Chicago, she married Herman Bauer, who passed away Aug 31, 1999.
Dorothy was a former secretary at the YMCA in Chicago. She was a longtime and active member of the Monteith Presbyterian Church in Detroit. A member of DAR and PTA, she had been an active member and former leader for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
Survivors include daughter Margaret (William) White of Kewadin; son Charles (Lynn) Bauer of Elk Rapids; granddaughter Kristen Bauer of Saline; grandson Maxwell Bauer of Elk Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother.
No services are planned at this time. Interment will be in Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, NE. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
