Doris Logghe, age 82, of Peck, died on November 19, 2007 at her son’s home. She was born February 17, 1925 in Brown City to Richard and Emma Shephard. Doris graduated from Brown City High School, class of 1942. She received her teaching certificate from Central Michigan University and taught country school for six years. On May 21, 1949, she married Albert Logghe. A loving mother and grandmother, she was a farmers wife and worked long and hard on the farm. Doris was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Peck, a member of TOPS #1271 in Croswell and a 4-H leader for 24 years, being the founder of the Peck Country Cousins Club. Things she loved included her morning coffee, baking cookies, long walks, going to church, baby sitting family and being devoted to her grandchildren. Doris is survived by her four children: Mary Ann (Steve) Izdebski, Laingsburg; Robert (Carol) Logghe, Peck; Lee (Donna) Logghe, Peck and Dale (Mary Jane) Logghe, Croswell; 12 grandchildren; Stephanie (Mike) Jennings, Dan Izdebski, Patrick (April) Logghe, Pamela (Aaron) Szab, Mike (Sarah) Logghe, Mark (Bridgette) Logghe, Kelly Logghe and fiancé Matthew Ridgeway, Amy Logghe and fiancé Jim Burns, Sarah Logghe, Brenda (Leonard) Moore, Barbara (Dwight) Rich, Melissa Hickson, seven great-grandchildren, sister, Leola (Duane) Brock, two brothers Morris Shephard and Lloyd (Pat) Shephard and sister-in-law, Catherine Logghe. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister-in-law Dawn Shephard and brother in law Raymond Logghe. Funeral services have been held at the St. John's Catholic Church in Peck. Doris' grandsons served as pallbearers and burial is in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peck. Memorials may be made to the Omard or Jeddo United Methodist Churches or the St. John's Building Fund.
