Doris Anne Rozenboom, 81, of Rapid City passed away on Thursday. Feb. 27. 2003, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care. She was born on Jan. 5, 1922 in Elira, Ohio, the daughter of Claude and Mary Jane (Peck) Champney.
Doris graduated from Rapid City High School in 1939. She married William Rozenboom on Aug. 15, 1941 in Farmington. They have been residents of Kalkaska County since 1985, moving from Taylor. Doris was a member of the Alden United Methodist Church.
Doris is survived by her children, David Ross (Jan) Rozenboom of Plymouth, Mary Anne (David) Sexton of Taylor, Claudia J. (Rock) Lee of Rapid City and Deidre J. (Frank) Mouro of Rapid City; 14 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; one great great-grandson; sisters, Elaine MacNicol of Rapid City and Wilma Scott of Mio; and brother, Wayne (Mary Ann) Champney of Rapid City.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, William; son. William Allen Rozenboom in February 1987; and brother, Clark C. Champney in 2000.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service honoring Doris on Saturday, March 15, 2003, at 3 p.m. at the Alden Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard L. Matson officiating. Memorials may be given on behalf of Doris Rozenboom to the Alden Community United Methodist Church, 9015 Helena Road, Alden, Mich. 49612.
