Mrs. Ione Waldron Barney of Burt Lake died Wed, Mar 16, at Lockwood MacDonald Hospital in Petoskey after a lingering illness.
She was born Ione McMichael Sept 30, 1895 at Burt Lake, and lived there her entire life. Her first husband, Charles preceded her in death Jul 29, 1965, and her second husband, Clarence Barney, passed away Mar 7, 1977.
She was a member of the Burt Lake Christian Church. She was also a member of the Primrose Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star No. 362 of Indian River, and a Paste Matron of the Primrose Chapter, and member of the Past Matron Club.
Mrs. Barney is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Betty) McDonald of Burt Lake, Mrs. William (Shirley) Billings of Aloha, Oregon, Mrs. Eric (Helen) Tull of Mundelein, Illinois, and Mrs. John (Frances) Campbell of Punta Gorda, FL, and six sons, Irvin Waldron of Burt Lake, William Waldron of Picayune, Miss., Charles Waldron of Alanson, James Waldron of Indian River, Col. David Waldron of the US AF in Anchorage, Alaska, and Jack Waldron of Burt Lake. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Arthur Thorson of St. Monica, CA.
Her body is at the AM Schneider Funeral Home at Indian River, where friends may call after 7pm this evening until noon Sat, when it will be moved to lie in state at the Burt Lake Christian Church until time of services at 2pm. Rev. Dale K McAlvey will officiate.
