Donna Jean Boynton, 48, of Williamsburg, died Saturday at home. 

Mrs. Boynton was born Jun 3, 1943, in Chicago, Cook County, IL, to Edward Henry and Vera (Smith) Ohlund. On Aug 31, 1975, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena, she married Rick Boynton, a Lieutenant with the Michigan State Police and Post Commander of the Kalkaska Team, Post 79, who survives. 

Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Allen Planz of Chattanooga, TN and Randell Edward Planz of Springboro, OH; a brother, Robert Ohlund of Kankakee, IL, a sister, Joanne Newberger of Westminster, CA, three stepsons, Paul Boynton of Longwood, FL and Michael Boynton of Cleveland, OH, and Richard Boynton stationed on the USS Saratoga; one stepdaughter, Sheri Lester of St. Charles, IL, and four grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father. 

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Beta Sigma, Phi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Traverse City Newcomers, a real estate broker and manager of the Coldwell Banker-Schmidt Realtors Office of Gaylord from 1981-88. In 1986 shew as named Realtor for the Year for Northern Michigan. She also volunteered at Munson Medical Center in the Gift Shop. 

A prayer service was conducted by Dr. David Gabel at Ruggles Funeral Home in Traverse City on Mon, Mar 2. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church in Gaylord officiated by Pastor Terry Granke. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord in the spring. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Traverse Area Hospice at Munson Medical Center; Otsego Area Hospice, 825 N. Center, Gaylord, MI 49735, and the Leukemia Society of America, Inc, Michigan Chapter, 21617 Harper Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080, of the Grand Traverse/ Kalkaska Chapter of the American Red Cross.
